Poffertjes (Dutch mini-pancakes)
You'll quickly fall in love with these fluffy and light dutch mini-pancakes, which are served with icing sugar on top!
- 2 cups Flour
- 2.5 tsp Yeast
- 2 cups Milk 2%
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 package Vanilla sugar (7-8g) can substitute for 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 Pinch of salt
Lightly warm up half of the milk and add to it the yeast. Let sit for 10-15min.
Mix the flour with the sugar and the salt.
Gradually add the yeast mixture then the rest of the milk. Cover and place in a warm area for an hour.
Grease a pan and put about 1/2 tablespoon at a time of the batter. Bake on each side for about 15-20s on low heat, until slightly brown.
Serve with icing sugar and syrup.
