Cinnamon Rolls

[recipe title="Cinnamon Rolls> servings="9" time="2h" difficulty="medium" description="Cinnamon rolls, the most perfect dessert"]

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 + 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 + 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp softened butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the filling:

  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp cinnamon (can add more if needed, for a stronger taste)
  • 1/4 cup butter

For the frosting:

  • Butter
  • Icing sugar
  • Vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
  • Milk

Directions

  1. If using the milk straight from the fridge, warm it up the milk a little bit (not too much so as not to kill the yeast)
  2. Mix it with the yeast
  3. In a bowl, add the flour, sugar, salt
  4. Gradually add the milk+yeast mixture
  5. Add the softened butter
  6. Add the egg
  7. Work the dough until you get a firm and soft ball. Cover and place in a warm area (such as the oven with the lights turned on) for one hour, (tip: you can place it inside a blanket to help it rise faster)
  8. After one hour, spread the dough to make a rectangular shape about 5-7 mm thick
  9. Spread 1/4 cup of butter on it
  10. Mix the cinnamon with the sugar and sprinkle a generous amount on top
  11. Start rolling the length direction, the cut into 9 equal slices
  12. Let sit for about 10 min, then place in a greased square tin and bake in a preheated oven at 360F/180C for about 20min
  13. To make the glaze, mix the ingredients (I honestly just eye measured) until you get a somehow thick glaze and pour all over the cinnamon rolls
  14. Eat warm or put in the fridge for later
