    Poffertjes (Dutch Mini-Pancakes)

Anyone knows what “poffertjes” are? These traditional dutch mini-pancakes are usually eaten with icing sugar and syrup, especially during holidays such as Christmas. You can also add berries and whipped cream on top! Ideally you would use a poffertjes pan, however I just baked mine on a pan and they still ended up spongy and light. The secret is to just put a tiny bit of batter at a time, to keep the poffertjes small, as they will rise and expand a bit. It’s a nice recipe that will be a good adding to a week-end brunch table. Try it and let me know what you think! You'll quickly fall…

    Dutch Baby Pancakes

Hey you all! Ever heard of dutch baby pancakes? As the name suggest, they’re actually not from the Netherlands, but from America, where they’re also called “german pancakes”. Texture-wise, they’re like thick crepes. These pancakes are seriously so good – they’re oven baked and the middle rises during baking! The best part is first melting the butter in the skillet before pouring the batter – makes the whole pancake even better! You should add them to your go-to brunch recipe list! These thin dutch pancakes are oven baked and best served with icing sugar and syrup!

    Moist Chocolate Muffins

Guys. I often bake and find myself having to make a recipe two or three times to get it right. But these muffins were different. As soon as I took the first bite I new I had something there. These muffins are mosit and chocolaty, so I’m sure you’ll fall in love as soon as you try them. Why does everyone hate the word “moist” ? I don’t know. I really think they should aim their hate towards prickles instead. Now I love prickles, but can’t wait for 2018 and the weird pickles obsession going on down the border to be over. Forever. How can I make my cake more…

Vegan Banana Bread (with coconut flour)

I love bananas. So much I always end up with 2 or 3 that get too ripped and that’s when I know it is banana bread time. I love to play around with banana bread and twist recipes, play with ratios – which my roomate absolutely hates. In this vegan banana bread I decided to add some coconut flour, to give a slightly different taste than your usual banana bread. This is much more than a plain vegan banana bread. This is a vegan banana bread 2.0. Can I substitue coconut flour for another type of flour ? Of course. Almond flour would do wonders! As it has a weaker…

    Mojito Protein Smoothie

First of all, Ramadan Mubarak to all my friends celebrating! Today I’m bringing you this amazing Mojito Protein Smoothie, which is quite refreshing in this hot weather! Ramadan is a month where Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dusk until sunset. It is meant as a month to improve oneself, practice patience, and increase good actions. As a natural morning person, my schedule is kinda turned upside down, especially since I like to get my sweat in the morning when the gym is empty! What I found works for Ramadan is just a bit of planning. As I plan to hit the gym straight after sunset, around 8:30pm, I…

How to make the Perfect Buttercream Recipe (In less than 20 min!)

American buttercream is definitely the most popular icing recipe out there. Eady to make, requires not special skill or equipment, and have I talked about the creaminess ? I get satisfaction whenever I get the optimal, creamy buttercream texture, ready to be placed on cakes or cupcakes. Let’s dive in straight into the recipe, shall we? What do I need ? The buttercream ingredients themselves are minimal: butter, icing sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.   What’s the best icing sugar to butter ratio? I have found that a 4:1 ratio is a bit too sweet, so I usually do between that and 3:1. As a beginner, a ratio of 3:1…

    App: Lifesum

Hey there 😊 First of all, this post is not sponsored and I’m only sharing my genuine opinion. I recently discovered a free application, Lifesum, which is just amazing. It will let you log your food, water, drinks and exercice everyday. You can also connect it to Google Fit or FitBit (among others) so that it automatically synchronizes your daily activity. One of my favorite thing is that it can scan the barcode of your products (including Canadians ones! I haven’t tried with other countries yet) to ease up logging your food. If you wanna download it, it’s available both on Google Play and on the Apple Store 😎

    Breakfast on muffins

Breakfast is the coolest meal of the day, hands down. Particulary when english muffins are involved (I just love them so much). I made this the other day as an afternoon snack, but it’s definitely most suitable for brekkie, with a cuppa or some coffee. It’s also perfect as a post-workout snack.  Hope you like it 🙂 Ingredients 1 english muffin //  1 large egg // 2 tbsp of milk // a pinch of salt // 1/4 of an apple // 2 tbsp of cream cheese or ricotta cheese // 1 tsp of honey // 1 tsp of sunflower seeds Instructions Spread some butter on the muffins, then place them on a…
