Cinnamon Rolls
[recipe title="Cinnamon Rolls> servings="9" time="2h" difficulty="medium" description="Cinnamon rolls, the most perfect dessert"]
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 + 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 + 1/2 tsp yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp softened butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the filling:
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
- 1.5 tbsp cinnamon (can add more if needed, for a stronger taste)
- 1/4 cup butter
For the frosting:
- Butter
- Icing sugar
- Vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
- Milk
Directions
- If using the milk straight from the fridge, warm it up the milk a little bit (not too much so as not to kill the yeast)
- Mix it with the yeast
- In a bowl, add the flour, sugar, salt
- Gradually add the milk+yeast mixture
- Add the softened butter
- Add the egg
- Work the dough until you get a firm and soft ball. Cover and place in a warm area (such as the oven with the lights turned on) for one hour, (tip: you can place it inside a blanket to help it rise faster)
- After one hour, spread the dough to make a rectangular shape about 5-7 mm thick
- Spread 1/4 cup of butter on it
- Mix the cinnamon with the sugar and sprinkle a generous amount on top
- Start rolling the length direction, the cut into 9 equal slices
- Let sit for about 10 min, then place in a greased square tin and bake in a preheated oven at 360F/180C for about 20min
- To make the glaze, mix the ingredients (I honestly just eye measured) until you get a somehow thick glaze and pour all over the cinnamon rolls
- Eat warm or put in the fridge for later
