    Healthy Tiramisu

Tiramisu is one of my favorite recipes, and also one of my mom’s. It’s also one of the few recipes I have already prepared with my brother, and it is relatively easy to make, since no oven is required. However, the originak recipe calls for lots of mascarpone, eggs and sugar. Hence, it’s quite heavy and…well, not something I would eat everyday 🙂 You know I like to bring twists to original recipes, so I came up with this. Ricotta cheese is one of my favorite. I always get the reduced fat version, which is like 280 calories per cup, and always have to try not to eat the entire…

    Msemen

“Msemen” or “rghaif” are a moroccan “crepe” made with mainly fine semolina. We usually eat them with a mix of melted butter and honey, but they’re good on their own as well, especially when still warm. Since I came to Canada, I like to put maple syrup on them. What’s nice with those crepes is that they can be veganized (if you use margarine or vegan butter) and only need 3 or 4 ingredients: fine semolina, flour, butter or margaribe, and sunflower oil (I personally only used margarine). When I lived in London, it was impossible to find them anywhere, and I wished I had tried making them sooner as…

    Chocolate Protein Balls

Guys. In the past to criminals in the Roman Empire, they used to attach each one of their limbs to a horse. Then order the horses to run in all directions. Ouch. I feel like life is trying to do that to me. So many things to do which have NOTHING to do with each other. Gotta process my simulations result. Prepare my french lessons (I’m a french teacher too). Work on the model of a CubeSat satellite we’re trying to send into space – if we win the competition – with ANOTHER team. On top of that I’m preparing for the Dobson cup. Now don’t get it wrong, I…

    Dill Sandwhich Spread

Last Saturday, I went to Montreal’s Vegan Festival and had an amaaazing vegan hot-(non)dog. Juicy, big, thick, with lots of sauce. That was clearly the highlight of my week 🙂 Anyways, was walking down the supermarket aisles the other day when I noticed they had hot dog bread. By chance, the vegan section was not far, so I obviously had to take some sausages. Back home, I then created a yummy vegan hot dog, with dill sauce. It’s super easy to make and, to be honest, I didn’t really measure the quantities. You can put this spread on any sandwhich, of mix it with any kind of veggies or meat. Gorgeous.…

Since I moved to Canada, I’ve been so obsessed with fall, and doing all the activities related to it. It’s probably because I have always lived in countries where the fall season is not that obvious. I am still amazed at the beautiful orange/red/yellow shades of leaves. To celebrate fall and pumpkins, I prepared these cupcakes the other day. Look at this cute little tower (NB: they may or may not have fell after I took this picture).   Here is the recipe 🙂 Ingredients 1/2 cup of wholewheat flour // 1/4 cup of white flour // 1tsp of baking powder // 40g of brown sugar // 2 egg whites…

    Wholemeal Flour Pancakes (makes 12)

Pancakes are so versatile. You can eat them with Nutella. Or salty food. Or sweet food. Or on their own, while baking them. Or with maple syrup. And did I mention Nutella ? Here’s my take on them. I didn’t have regular flour at home, so I used the wholemeal version. Accidentally healthy pancakes. Super cool. Ingredients: 1 cup wholemeal flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp light margarine (or butter/applesauce. The applesauce could also give a sweet taste so why not 🙂 ) 2 medium eggs, beaten (or 2 tbsp of chia seeds + 6 tbsp water for the vegan version) 1 cup of milk (I…
