Chocolate Crunch

You know what, sometimes you really need a quick dessert to satisfy that sweet tooth. I have never been a huge chocolate fan, but one thing I have always liked is chocolate crunch! It’s so easy to make as you only need usually two ingredients: melted chocolate and any kind of cereals to fill (I used popped quinoa here). Then, you put it in the fridge and let it set for at least one hour before cutting it up and serving! How good does that sound ?! That is music to my ears for sure.

This recipe is also perfect if you have kids at home and want to make something sweet but don’t have the time or don’t want a messy kitchen.

Can I use a different kind of chocolate ?

Yes you can substitute for any kind of chocolate you want (including milk chocolate) as long as you keep the same amount of it! I’d really suggest to include an orange chocolate bar as it gives a subtle taste!

Can I substitute popped quinoa for something else?

Yes, rice crispies will entirely work! Or, you can be a little bit more adventurous and put your favorite cereal in there.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Dark chocolate bar I used 72%
  • 100g g Orange chocolate bar
  • 1 cup Puffed Quinoa
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup Optional

Instructions

  • Break the chocolate bars into pieces and put in a microwavable dish. Put in the microwave for 15s at a time to prevent the chocolate from burning.
  • When it has melted, add the maple syrup and mix well.
  • Add the popped quinoa to a bowl and covers with the melted chocolate. Mix until all the popped quinoa is well coated.
  • Put parchment paper on a dish and spread the mixture.
  • Put in the fridge for an horu at least, then check if the bars have set. If they have you can cut them.
