App: Lifesum
Hey there
First of all, this post is not sponsored and I’m only sharing my genuine opinion. I recently discovered a free application, Lifesum, which is just amazing. It will let you log your food, water, drinks and exercice everyday. You can also connect it to Google Fit or FitBit (among others) so that it automatically synchronizes your daily activity. One of my favorite thing is that it can scan the barcode of your products (including Canadians ones! I haven’t tried with other countries yet) to ease up logging your food. If you wanna download it, it’s available both on Google Play and on the Apple Store
Vegan Banana Bread
By now, can you tell what’s my favorite fruit ? The best thing that can happen to me is to find a perfectly ripped banana. I often make banana bread and twist my recipe, but this time I wanted to try and make an entirely vegan version. And gosh, you won’t even realize this hasn’t got any butter, eggs, or milk. Actually, I completely messed up my first attempt. Didn’t put enough flour and the cake ended up just too oily. Anyways, enough talking, let’s get to serious things
Vegan Blueberry Oats Pancakes
Don’t know what to eat for breakfast ? Ditch your boring toast or cereals and make some pancakes full of goodness
Vegan Creamy Coconut Mushrooms on Toast
Oriental Chickpeas with Tomatoes
I love simple meals (mainly because I have close to no patience when I’m hungry
) but the other day I felt like making something a little bit more sophisticated
This chickpeas dish is full of flavor and can be taken on its own, as a side dish or with some basmati rice. Hope you like it!
Vegan Coconut Milk Hot Chocolate
I always love a good hot chocolate. Especially from Starbucks
The other day, I wanted to try something different and use my canned coconut milk to make some hot chocolate. The result was
I know you will like the recipe as much as I did.
Batbout (Moroccan Semolina Pan Bread)
No bread ? No problem. This moroccan semolina bread is called “batbout” and it’s pretty much superman, as you literally cook it in a pan. For 1 medium batbout or 2 small ones: Ingredients: 1/2 cup fine semolina // 1/4 cup all-purpose flour // 1/2 tsp yeast // a pinch of salt // about 1/3 cup of warm water Instructions: In a large bowl, add the flour, semolina, yeast and salt // gradually add the water to form a non-sticky dough // Form a ball and let it rest for about 45 min // When ready, spread the dough circularly until is about 1 cm thick // Grease a pan…
Pie Crust
I love making stuff from scratch. Messy hands are the best hands
. Pie crust dough is super easy to make and customizable whether you want it sweet or not. Here we go: Ingredients 2 cups flour // 3/4 cup softened (not liquified) butter (you can use vegan butter or margarine too) // 1/2 cup water // (optional: for a sweet crust, add 3 tbsp of sugar) Instructions In a large bowl, mix the flour and the softened butter. You should get a lumpy, sand-like texture // Gradually add the water while working the dough. You should get a soft and light dough. If too sticky, add some flour as…
Raisins – Speculoos Parfait
Everything involving Speculoos is a good thing. Just pike this yoghurt parfait for example. Sweet, full of goodness (Speculoos are good for the mind right ?) and damn so pretty. This is quite rich, so perfect as a cheat. I actually got this idea while doing my groceries. For foodies, the supermarket aisle is a temple
Ingredients (serves 1) 2/3 cup greek yoghurt (or yoghurt of choice) (sub for any plant based yoghurt for the vegab version ) // 2 tbsp raisins // 2 Speculoos // 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup for the vegan version Instructions In your cup of choice, put a layer of yoghurt (1/3 cup)…
Buttercream (chocolate and vanilla)
Let’s talk about buttercream. I love it because it’s very versatile and easy to make. The butter to icing sugar ratio I normally follow is 1:3. Of course, you can also add some vanilla extract, milk or maple syrup to taste. Or you could substitute some icing sugar for cocoa powder. Just make sure the cream stays consistent, cause a cream that’s too liquid wouldn’t set very well of course. Also, it’s always a nice idea to put the icing if thr fridge for 30 min before putting it on the cupcakes or cake, so that it sets properly. Chocolate buttercream (8 cupcakes): 3 tbsp cocoa powder // 1/2 cup…
